About Us

History:
The North Oxfordshire Model Aircraft Club, NOMAC,  was founded in 1985 by a group of enthusiastic fliers of radio controlled model aircraft.  Originally flying on Enstone Airfield, the club moved to its present site at Chipping Norton in 1988.

The Club has experienced and novice fliers of fixed wing (power, scale, glider and electric) and helicopters. Experienced members will advise on initial model set-up and provide training assistance when possible. Novice members are always welcome and can be given full training in the proper construction and flying of models.

You are welcome to come and see us - a Sunday afternoon or summer Wednesday evenings with good weather are good times to find us at the site.

Facilities:
The entrance to our field is through double metal gates, 1 mile South of Chipping Norton off the B4026 Chipping Norton to Charlbury road. It is about 12 miles from Banbury and 15 miles from Oxford.

This excellent site has a hard road for access, concrete parking and pits areas, a tarmac runway and an adjacent mown grass patch. On entering the gates follow the track to the left and park on the clear concrete area. Please note that the site has a gate which is kept locked
when not being used.

The Club has a headquarters facility that is heated and provides comfortable shelter with facilities for model assembly and adjustment, seating and hot food and drink. A bench is provided with 12V dc for battery charging.

The Club organises normal Club member activities including tests for the BMFA 'A' and 'B' Flying Proficiency Certificates.
